Over the weekend, when I was out for my usual drinks with friends, I met an interesting person who is the brother of one of my mates. This person's name is Francis.
What was interesting about Francis? Well, according to him, he only works for roughly 6 months in a year and takes the other 6 months off.
He told me that, from March to August/September he works extremely hard. Like really really hard. Think 8am~9pm on normal working days AND weekends. What does he do? He was mostly coy and didn't specifically tell me what he does but from what I deduced from latter conversations, it sounded like he was doing something in the entertainment industry (i'm guessing event planning such as concerts, road shows, etc). So, he works like a dog for those 6 months but once he is done, he does NOTHING for the next 6 months. Yep, from September till the following March next year, he is pretty much free to do anything he wants. He says he makes enough in that 6 months of work and he goes off enjoying his life for the other 6 months. He doesn't live extravagantly but he does try to travel quite a fair bit. Other times when he is not traveling, he just chills around doing stuff he likes to do, i.e. surfing, biking, camping, etc.

Hearing Francis relate his lifestyle to me makes me wonder how nice would it be to for me to have the same job/lifestyle as Francis. I personally don't mind slaving for 6 months and then taking 6 months off to do anything I want. Life will be absolutely fantastic!
Imagine the possibilities. Perfect lifestyle for a bachelor. :)

but wouldn't that means sacrificing ur loved ones for 6 months before pampering them for the next 6 months? being ignored for a month is bad enough wor.
